A Few Stats

It's Monday afternoon and I'm at home instead of at the pool today. Emily Grace will have a swimming lesson later in the evening, so we're waiting until closer time to go. I can't sit outside in the heat all day long, and there is only so much of the water I can take. And as far as people watching goes, Mark put it best.. "It ain't Baywatch". So, we'll go later :)

Weekend Update

What a weekend!

Finance Blog=Long Blog

I was watching the news this morning and in between all the political ramblings of which I am tired of hearing about, and which will no doubt continue to saturate the airways with increasing intensity through November, there was an interesting story. A family that normally spends $660 a week tried to cut their budget in half. Yes, you read it right... $660 a week! That money was spent on Starbucks Coffee every morning, eating out, groceries and entertainment. Weekly!

Happy Holiday

It's been a good holiday weekend. We watched fireworks, saw a movie, got some of the painting done and visited with family.

We found the perfect spot to watch the fireworks in Harrisburg. We parked at Sonic Drive In and had a fruit slush while we watched right over the trees. We avoided the crowd at the park and last year, we avoided the thunderstorm that happened just as the show was ending. It's a great location.

A New Look

I hate to paint. My small foyer and living room are way overdue for a new look. Mark and I haven't painted since we bought the house, almost 12 years ago!

Church, Movie, and Hoppy

Today was the first time in months that Mark actually went to church with me and Emily Grace, instead of playing in the band and us meeting him there. He's usually out of the house by 6:00am on Sunday mornings and doesn't get home until around 1:30pm. It was great! We slept late; until almost 8am (Emily Grace did too!) and rode to church together. The message was great today.

Saturday

This morning Emily Grace actually slept until I woke her up at 8:15! She was no doubt recovering from her Girl Scout camp late nights and the sleepover we hosted.

After everyone was up and dressed, we went to eat breakfast and then to the Mount Pleasant Fourth of July Parade. It was perfect; not too hot and we got a great spot in the shade. Best of all, the parade was good, and only lasted about 45 minutes. Long enough for us to enjoy it, and short enough so we didn't get bored.

Bored

It's been what, 15 days since we got out of school?

Sleepless Night

I can't sleep. RLS is acting up and the ibuprofen isn't helping yet. I have trouble sleeping a lot of nights, but I thought tonight would be better, simply because I've discovered something that may actually work for my sinus problems.

Good Tuesday

Today has been a great day. Emily Grace and I spent the day together at the pool; we even ate lunch there. How is it that an ordinary sandwich tastes better when you're on a picnic than it does at home? We just had sandwiches and cantaloupe, but it was good under a big shade tree with the breeze cooling us off. Emily Grace loves the water, but she needs swimming lessons. We're thinking about getting some private lessons for her; I don't think it would take very long for her to get the hang of it.
