A Few Stats

It's Monday afternoon and I'm at home instead of at the pool today. Emily Grace will have a swimming lesson later in the evening, so we're waiting until closer time to go. I can't sit outside in the heat all day long, and there is only so much of the water I can take. And as far as people watching goes, Mark put it best.. "It ain't Baywatch". So, we'll go later :)

This week is going to be busy. We're getting ready to go to the beach. I'm going to be the nurse for our church youth camp this year. As a school nurse, I'm not worried about the medications, really, but I've never taken anything like this "mobile" before. I just need to think things through and make sure I'm taking everything I need to be organized. Last I heard, we're going to have around 80 kids, give or take a few. I think it will be a fun experience, and I'm really glad Mark and Emily Grace are going, too. I wouldn't go a whole week without them.

Emily Grace and I went to the hairdresser today for hair cuts and then to Chick-fil-A for lunch. They have a great grilled chicken salad. My weight loss journey continues, so I'm trying to eat better. You wouldn't know it from last night, though! We had dinner with good friends, the Hatcher's, and I'm sorry... but at Red Robin, I'm getting that Blue Ribbon Burger! It must be one of the best burgers I've ever put in my mouth! We had a good time, so this morning, I am back on track. So far :) It's hard for a carb-addict like myself to limit breads and junk food. It's also more expensive to eat healthy. Fruits and vegetables, even in season, are expensive now. I guess it's because of fuel prices. No wonder there are so many overweight people. I read somewhere that over 60% of Americans are now obese, and over 49% of women are on prescription medications for chronic diseases such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. (Just some light summer reading I picked up) For all of you that are in this struggle with me... keep it up! Put down that bag of chips and eat a piece of fruit instead! You'll feel better and the people at the pool will notice!
