Today has been a great day. Emily Grace and I spent the day together at the pool; we even ate lunch there. How is it that an ordinary sandwich tastes better when you're on a picnic than it does at home? We just had sandwiches and cantaloupe, but it was good under a big shade tree with the breeze cooling us off. Emily Grace loves the water, but she needs swimming lessons. We're thinking about getting some private lessons for her; I don't think it would take very long for her to get the hang of it.
My friend Silvia called this morning to check if I'd worked out or not. I was happy to be able to report that I had walked on the treadmill and completed my upper and lower body workout with weights and resistance band. The resistance band really gives a good workout. I used the 15 lb. resistance and I'm feeling it tonight. I'm glad she called. I need that kind of accountability. While I have that with Mark anyway, it's different with someone other than your spouse. So thanks, Silvia! I've also had a good day with my food intake. I've had two servings of fresh fruit, and three servings of fresh vegetables, and protein at each meal. The daytime isn't the problem, it's after supper that gets difficult. I'm an evening snack food junkie. Not having it in the house makes it easy not to snack, but it doesn't do much for my mood! So, I'm going to watch Hell's Kitchen and listen to Chef Ramsey rant and rave for an hour!
