Politics

It's been a very busy time since school started. Trying to get myself and Emily Grace back into the swing of things has been difficult, and has resulted in some temper tantrums. Emily Grace has had a few, too.

This Week and a new Recipe

Okay, here's the deal... it's been a really looooong week. I started back to school/work on Monday to get ready for the kids. The whole week has been a blur of paperwork, organizing, and meetings. Believe it or not, I'm really excited about school starting back. Emily Grace is pumped; she has an awesome teacher and has had her back pack ready for three days! There's only one catch... I'm expecting to have at least 13 Epi pens, 3 diabetic students, and who knows how many allergy and asthma meds, and I've only received a total of 6 medications so far!

Lunch and Shopping

Today I went to the RRCC Women's Lunch at Sticky Fingers. It was so much fun. I met some new people and found someone with a common interest in my favorite author and subject... Stephen King and horror fiction. Emily Grace had a great time. She had the ribs and practically licked the bones clean.

Long Time, No Blog

I'm finally starting to settle back into a routine after being at the beach for a week. Our church youth camp, Thirst '08, was off the heezy. The kids were amazing, and the adults worked tirelessly (even though they were all sleep deprived) to make the experience life changing. Over the course of the week there were dozens of decisions to follow Christ, and Sunday some of those students and adults were baptized. I'm really glad I went.

A Few Stats

It's Monday afternoon and I'm at home instead of at the pool today. Emily Grace will have a swimming lesson later in the evening, so we're waiting until closer time to go. I can't sit outside in the heat all day long, and there is only so much of the water I can take. And as far as people watching goes, Mark put it best.. "It ain't Baywatch". So, we'll go later :)

Weekend Update

What a weekend!

Finance Blog=Long Blog

I was watching the news this morning and in between all the political ramblings of which I am tired of hearing about, and which will no doubt continue to saturate the airways with increasing intensity through November, there was an interesting story. A family that normally spends $660 a week tried to cut their budget in half. Yes, you read it right... $660 a week! That money was spent on Starbucks Coffee every morning, eating out, groceries and entertainment. Weekly!

Happy Holiday

It's been a good holiday weekend. We watched fireworks, saw a movie, got some of the painting done and visited with family.

We found the perfect spot to watch the fireworks in Harrisburg. We parked at Sonic Drive In and had a fruit slush while we watched right over the trees. We avoided the crowd at the park and last year, we avoided the thunderstorm that happened just as the show was ending. It's a great location.

A New Look

I hate to paint. My small foyer and living room are way overdue for a new look. Mark and I haven't painted since we bought the house, almost 12 years ago!

Church, Movie, and Hoppy

Today was the first time in months that Mark actually went to church with me and Emily Grace, instead of playing in the band and us meeting him there. He's usually out of the house by 6:00am on Sunday mornings and doesn't get home until around 1:30pm. It was great! We slept late; until almost 8am (Emily Grace did too!) and rode to church together. The message was great today.
